Twentieth-century atheist masonry: Silent and remote

During 18th and 19th centuries, the activities of Masons in countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Russia, clearly showed that the goal of Masonry was socio-political revolution. Masonry wanted to establish a new order in which religious institutions and religious faith are eradicated, and to this end has attempted to topple monarchies that were supportive of religion. In many European countries, Masonic lodges became rallying centers for opponents of religion, where coups, uprisings, assassinations, political plots and anti-religious politics were conspired. Behind all such activities, whether on a small or grand scale, which have occurred since the French Revolution in 1789 to the twentieth century, is found the influence of Masonry.

According to the English historian Michael Howard, Masonic lodges concentrated their efforts in the second half of the nineteenth century to overthrow the two remaining important Empires: the Austro-Hungarian and the Russian Empires, and were able to achieve their goal as a result of the World War One.

In other words, at the beginning of the twentieth century, Masonry had, in great measure, achieved its goal of socio-political revolution.

Therefore, the twentieth century was not one of Masonic revolutions. Thinking they have no more obstacles to confront, Masons prefer to merely disseminate their philosophy instead of hatching political plots. They spread their materialist and humanist philosophy to the masses under the guise of science, or by means of art, the media, literature, music and all manner of popular culture. Masons do not intend by this propaganda to eradicate the divine religions in a sudden revolution; they want to achieve this over the long-term, and to initiate all people into their philosophy only little by little.

An American Mason sums up this method as follows:

Freemasonry does its work silently, but it is the work of a deep river, that silently pushes on towards the ocean. (The Catholic Encyclopedia, "Masonry (Freemasonry)," New Advent, (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09771a.htm))

According to Voice magazine, published by the Grand Lodge in Chicago, "So, silently but surely and continually, it [Masonry] builds into the great fabric of human society"( Voice, Chr. 1889, II, 257 sq.; The Catholic Encyclopedia, "Masonry (Freemasonry)," New Advent, (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09771a.htm)) This "building into the great fabric" will come about when the basics of Masonic philosophy—materialism, humanism and Darwinism—are imposed on society.

The most interesting aspect of this silent and remote strategy is that those Masons who are carrying it out almost never reveal that it is being done in the name of Masonry. They do their work under different identities, titles and in different positions of power, but they impose a commonly espoused philosophy they adopted through Masonry, on society.

The result of this deceit is very detrimental. The program of alienating the masses from religion, carried out by Masonry in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, gave rise to neo-pagan ideologies such as racism and fascism, and secular and violent ideologies such as communism. The spread of social Darwinism deemed people to be animals struggling for their existence, the brutal results of which came about in the second half of the nineteenth century and in the twentieth century. The World War One was the work of European leaders who, as a result of Darwin's suggestions, regarded war and bloodshed as a biological necessity. During that war, 10 million people went to their deaths, for nothing. The World War Two that followed it, and in which 55 million people perished, was again the work of totalitarianism, like fascism and communism, that was the result of the seeds of militant secularism sown by the Masons. Throughout the whole world, during the twentieth century, all the destructive wars, conflicts, cruelty, injustice, exploitation, hunger, and moral degradation, basically, were products of irreligious philosophies and ideologies. (For details, see Harun Yahya's The Disasters Darwinism Brought to Humanity)

In short, the philosophy of Masonry has yielded bitter fruit. It could not be otherwise as it is a divine law. Historically, those pagan peoples who rejected the religion of God, in preference of their traditional mythology and the religion of their ancestors, followed the road to destruction. Freemasonry, a contemporary manifestation of this paganism, is drawing the whole world, and themselves, into ruin.

Human beings must protect themselves from this potential calamity, by overcoming the intimations of what Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, a renowned Islamic scholar, referred to as "the disease called materialism and naturalism," and in this way preserve the faith of the masses.

The dark philosophy of atheist freemasonry

Freemasons state “peace, fraternity and love among human beings” to be the tenets of their mission. However under these concepts, albeit seemingly positive at first sight, lies the Masonic philosophy’s enmity to religion.

Masonry has been one of the major topics about which people have been curious and bewildered. That is because the organisation’s activities are kept confidential and thus its real philosophy and objections are subject to much controversy. In their public disclosures, freemasons extensively refer to “human love, tolerance, universal fraternity, the way to science and wisdom...”, concepts with an instant appeal to heart. However, freemasonry is a dark organisation with its atheist and even anti-religious features.

The most interesting aspect is that the concepts referred by freemasons in their public disclosures and the accusations against them regarding being “irreligious” do not have much difference in essence. At this stage, one might raise the question “Why?” After all, none of these concepts seem adverse; love, tolerance and other similar “Humanist” concepts do not seem to be anti-religious at first sight. Even, many people think these concepts are among the moral teachings religions introduce.

However what truly matters is the content attributed to these concepts.

What “Love For Human” means for Freemasonry

Freemasons often speak about fraternity, tolerance and universal peace. They resort to the rhetoric that men are responsible for others. These are actually words rendering consolidation among people and thus there is nothing wrong with them. But what about a person’s responsibilities towards Allah?

This question discloses the actual face of the Masonic philosophy. That is because, the “love for human”, as referred by Masonic philosophy, is not the love sourced from the fact that human beings are the creations of Allah, as also approved by Yunus Emre in his words “to love the created because of the Creator.” On the contrary, freemasons hold that all human beings came into existence as an end of an evolutionary process. This is, however, an ultimate expression of denial of Allah.

In brief, the philosophy defined as “humanism”, which is the backbone of freemasonry, solely foresees the love shown to people and not to Allah. This distorted philosophy is expressed in the official reports of Turkish Freemasonry lodges which was published in 1923:

“We no longer accept Allah as the purpose of our lives. We have created our own purpose. That purpose will serve humanity and no longer Allah.”

“Underdeveloped societies are impotent. To cover their incapability, they mostly deify the forces and happenings which surround them. Masonry deifies humans.” (Selamet Mahfili- Third conference, page 51)

The definition of humanism, which lays the basis of freemasonry, indicates that this philosophy is of an anti-religious nature. Julian Huxley, the leader of the humanist movement in the 20th century founded a new religion, “Evolutionary Humanism” in the guidance of Darwin’s evolution theory. He stated the meaning rendered by this new religion as follows:

“When I use the word “humanist”, I mean that a human being is a natural creature such as a plant or an animal. In other words, the human body, mind and soul have not been created by a supernatural power but created as a result of the evolution. Therefore, the human being should not believe in the control nor the guide of a supernatural power but his sole existence and sole power.” (American Humanist Association Brochure)

John Dewey published a “Humanist Manifesto” in 1933. The manifesto underscored the idea that it was high time to eliminate divine religions and replace them with a new age of scientific improvement and social cooperation.

The second Manifesto published in 1973 explained all the threats against human kind. In this Manifesto, an outline is given regarding how this philosophy denies the existence of Allah;

“There is no Deity who will save us. We should save ourselves.”

Masonic ideology is also based on the same Humanistic principles. All the warming words used in the ideology are of a deceptive nature when one truly looks into their meanings. Once detached from the existence of Allah, words such as love, fraternity and peace will be meaningless. The sole existence of mankind is to worship Allah, as Allah states in the following verse:

“I created the jinn and mankind only that they might worship Me.” (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 56).

If mankind will deny this duty and rebel against Allah, He might never attain salvation.

One could never truly love another unless he has faith in Allah. This is why the term “human love”, which is frequently used in the Masonic ideology is entirely divorced from reality; all ideologies based on denial will strengthen the wicked side in people and will therefore give rise to bloodshed and torture. During the 20th century, due to the existence of irreligious ideologies such as communism and fascism, hundreds of millions of people suffered from genocide while billions were subjected to torture and pressure. It is also important to remember that The French Revolution, a Freemason-supported movement, derived its strength from the motto “Freedom, Equality and Fraternity” but ended up with tens of thousands of dead executed under guillotine.

The Meaning of “The Scientific Path and Reason”

As with the case of the concepts of “human love” interpreted within the framework of Humanism, “science” and “rationalism” are also taken up in anti-religious contexts by Freemasons.

For a Muslim, science is the tool to observe the universe Allah created and to understand the secrets underlying the way it functions. Rational thinking, on the other hand, is a way of worship Allah commands in the Qur'an and a sign of faith. However, in the Masonic terminology, these concepts are used with totally different connotations. In the According to Masonic thinking, science is not a tool to analyse the beings created by Allah. On the contrary, having faith in science is being associated with being an atheist. Under the guise of science, hoaxes such as Darwinism are indoctrinated to societies. Masonic teaching wages a war against religion by means of the hoax of Darwinism, which is actually refuted by the science itself. In a journal published by Turkish Freemasons, the responsibility of Freemasons to make the propagation of non-religiousness under the mask of “science” is stated as follows:

Believing that this is the best and single way in terms of evolution, our main Masonic duty is not to deviate from positive sciences and wisdom, to propagate this belief among people and to raise the public in the guidance of sciences. The following words of Ernest Renan is significant:

“The vain goals of religion will collapse by itself, only when the public is trained and enlightened by science and reason.”

The following statements of Lessing also support the same argument: “Through the enlightenment of man by science and wisdom, man will no longer feel the need of religion one day.”

This is the Masonic approach to religion.

Materialism in atheist masonic sources

I. THE ABSOLUTE MATTER ERROR

Today's Masons, as did the pharaohs, priests and other classes of Ancient Egypt, believe in the eternity and uncreatedness of matter, and that out of this lifeless matter living things came to be by chance. In Masonic writings we can read detailed accounts of these basic errors of materialist philosophy.

In his book, Masonluktan Esinlenmeler (Inspirations from Freemasonry), Master Mason Selami Isindag writes about Masonry's pure materialist philosophy:

All space, the atmosphere, the stars, nature, all animate and inanimate things are composed of atoms. Human beings are nothing more than a spontaneously occurring collection of atoms. A balance in the flow of electricity among atoms assures the survival of living things. When this balance is destroyed (not the electricity in the atoms), we die, return to the earth and are dispersed into atoms. That is, we have come from matter and energy and we will return to matter and energy. Plants make use of our atoms, and all living things including us make use of plants. Everything is made of the same substance. But because our brains are most highly evolved of all animals, consciousness appeared. If we look at the results of experimental psychology, we see that our three-fold psychic experience of emotion-mind-will is the result of the balanced functioning of the cells in the brain's cortex and hormones… Positivist science accepts that nothing came into existence from nothing, and nothing will be destroyed. As a result, it can be concluded that human beings feel grateful and obliged to no power. The universe is a totality of energy with no beginning or end. Everything is born from this totality of energy, evolving and dying, but never totally disappearing. Things change and are transformed. There is really no such thing as death or loss; there is continuous change, transformation and formation. But it is not possible to explain this great question and universal secret by means of scientific laws. But extra-scientific explanations are imaginary descriptions, dogma and vain belief. According to positivist science and reason, there is no spirit apart from the body. (Dr. Selami Isindag, Masonluktan Esinlenmeler (Inspirations from Freemasonry), Istanbul 1977, p. 189, (emphasis added))

You will find views identical to those above in the books of materialist thinkers such as K. Marx, F. Engels, V .I. Lenin, G. Politzer, C. Sagan, and J. Monod. They all accept the basic materialist myth that the universe has existed for ever, matter is the one absolute existent entity, human beings are composed of matter and are without spirit, matter evolved in and out of itself, and life appeared as a result of chance. It is right to use the term myth because, contrary to Isindag's claim that "these processes are the result of positivist science and reason," all these views have been invalidated by scientific discoveries in the second half of the twentieth century. For example, the Big Bang theory, accepted in scientific circles as proven, shows scientifically that the universe was created from nothing millions of years ago. The Laws of Thermodynamics show that matter does not have the ability to organize itself and that the balance and order in the universe is the result therefore of a conscious creation. By demonstrating the extraordinary structure of living things, biology proves the existence of a Creator, in other words God, Who made them all. (For detailed information, see Harun Yahya's The Creation of the Universe,Darwinism Refuted, The Evolution Deceit)

In his article, Isindag continues to explain that Masons are, in fact, materialists and, therefore, atheists, and that they use the concept of the "Great Architect of the Universe" in reference to a material evolution:
I want very briefly to touch on some principles, thoughts adopted by Masons: According to Masonry, life begins from a single cell, changes, is transformed and evolves into a human being. The nature, cause or purpose or conditions of this beginning cannot be known. Life comes from a combination of matter and energy and returns to it. If we accept the Great Architect of the Universe as a sublime principle, an endless horizon of goodness and beauty, the apex of the evolution, its highest stage and the ideal towards which human beings strive, and if we do not personalize it, we may be rescued from dogmatism.( Dr. Selami Isindag, Masonluktan Esinlenmeler (Inspirations from Freemasonry), Istanbul 1977, p. 190, (emphasis added))

As we see, one of the most basic principles of Masonic philosophy is that things come from matter and go back to matter. An interesting aspect of this view is that Masons do not regard this philosophy as particular to just themselves; they want to disseminate these ideas to the whole of society. Isindag continues:

A mason trained with these principles and doctrines accepts the duty to educate people... and to edify them by teaching them the principles of reason and positivist science. In this way, Masonry is addressed to people. It works on behalf of people despite the people.( Dr. Selami Isindag, Masonluktan Esinlenmeler (Inspirations from Freemasonry), Istanbul 1977, pp. 189-190, (emphasis added))

These words show two aspects of Masonry's perceived role in society;

1. Under the guise of positivist science and reason, Masonry attempts to impose on the rest of society the materialist philosophy it believes in (that is, Ancient Egyptian myth).

2. They intend to do this despite the people. That is, even if a society believes in God and has no desire to accept a materialist philosophy, Masonry will be dogged in their attempt to change people's world view without their consent.

There is an important matter that we must take notice of here: the terminology that Masons use is deceptive. In their writings, especially those directed at the rest of society, they employ language designed to show their philosophy as harmless, intelligent and tolerant. An example of this can be seen in the quotation above, in the notion of "edifying people by teaching them the principles of reason and positivist science." Indeed, Masonic philosophy has nothing to do with "science and reason"; it has to do with an outmoded myth that flies in the face of science. It is not Masonry's goal to edify people; their deliberate intention is to impose their philosophy on people. When they maintain that they are determined to do this despite the people, we see that they are not tolerant, but in possession of a totalitarian world-view.

II. DENIAL OF THE EXISTENCE OF SPIRIT AND OF THE HEREAFTER

As a part of their materialist beliefs, Masons do not accept the existence of the human spirit and completely reject the idea of the hereafter. In spite of this, Masonic writings sometimes say of the dead that they "passed over into eternity" or other such spiritual expressions. This may appear contradictory, but it is not, actually, because all of Masonry's references to the immortality of the spirit are symbolic. Mimar Sinan deals with this topic in an article entitled, "After Death in Freemasonry":

In the myth of Master Hiram, Masons accept resurrection after death in a symbolic manner. This resurrection shows that truth always prevails over death and darkness. Masonry does not give any importance to the existence of a spirit apart from the body. In Masonry, resurrection after death is to leave some spiritual or material work as a legacy to human beings. These make a human being immortal. Those who have been able to have their names immortalized in this deceptively short human life are those who have become successful. We regard those who have had their names immortalized as persons who have spent all their efforts, either for their contemporaries or for those generations that follow them, to make people happy and to ensure for them a more humane world. Their aim is to exalt the humane impulses that influence the lives of living people… Human beings who have sought immortality throughout the centuries can achieve it through the work they do, the services they perform and the ideas they produce, and this will give their lives meaning. As Tolstoy explained, "Paradise will then have been established here on earth and people will attain the highest possible good."( Hasan Erman, "Masonlukta Olum Sonrasi" (After Death in Freemasonry), Mimar Sinan, 1977, No. 24, p. 57)

On the same topic, Master Mason Isindag writes:

THE SUBSTANCE OF EVERYTHING: Masonry understands this as energy and matter. They say that everything changes stage by stage and will return again to matter. Scientifically, this is defined as death. Mysticism on this matter, that is, the belief that, of the two forces of which a person is composed—spirit and body—the body will die and the spirit will not; that spirits pass away to the world of spirits, continue their existence there and come back into another body when God commands, does not fit in with the change-transformation ideas accepted by Masonry. The ideas of Masonry on this matter can be expressed in this way: "After your death, the only things that will be left of you, and not die, are the memories of your maturity and what you have accomplished." This idea is a kind of philosophical way of thinking based on the principles of positivist science and reason. The religious belief in the immortality of the spirit and resurrection after death does not agree with positivist principles. Masonry has taken its principles of thought from positivist and rationalist philosophical systems. So, in this philosophical question, it is connected to a different way of thinking and explanation than that of religion.( Dr. Selami Isindag, Masonlugun Kendine Ozgu Bir Felsefesi Var Midir, Yok Mudur? (Does Freemasonry Have an Original Philosophy or Not?), Masonluktan Esinlenmeler (Inspirations from Freemasonry), Istanbul 1977, p. 97, (emphasis added))

To reject resurrection after death and to search for immortality in worldly legacy... Even if Masons present this idea as being in conformity with modern science, it is, in fact, a myth that has been believed by godless people since the early ages of history. The Qur'an says that godless people "constructed fine buildings hoping to live forever." Hud (peace be upon him), one of the past prophets, warned the people of 'Ad against this mode of ignorance, as stated below:

When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not do your duty?
I am a faithful Messenger to you, so heed God and obey me.
I do not ask you for any wage for it. My wage is the responsibility of no one but the Lord of all the worlds.
Do you build a tower on every hilltop, just to amuse yourselves,
and construct fine buildings, hoping to live for ever,
and when you attack, attack as tyrants do?
So heed God and obey me." (Surat ash-Shu‘ara’: 124-131)

The mistake these godless people committed was not the construction of fine buildings. Muslims also give importance to art; by producing it, they try to beautify the world. The difference lies in intention. A Muslim is interested in art to the extent that it expresses the beauty and esthetic notions that God has given to human beings. Godless people are mistaken in regarding art as a way to immortality.

Atheist masonic denial of the soul

The Masons' denial of the existence of spirit, and their claim that human consciousness is composed of matter, are not in accord with science. On the contrary, modern scientific discoveries demonstrate that human consciousness cannot be reduced to matter, and that consciousness cannot be explained in terms of the functions of the brain.

A look at the relevant literature shows that scientists have reached no conclusion as a result of their efforts, spurred on by materialist belief, to reduce consciousness to the brain, and many have ultimately given up. Today, many researchers are of the opinion that human consciousness comes from an unknown source beyond the neurons in the brain and the molecules and atoms that form them.

After years of study, one of these researchers, Wilder Penfield, reached the conclusion that the existence of spirit is an undeniable fact:

After years of striving to explain the mind on the basis of brain-action alone, I have come to the conclusion that it is simpler (and far easier to be logical) if one adopts the hypothesis that our being does consist of two fundamental elements [brain and mind (or soul)]. …Because it seems to be certain that it will always be quite impossible to explain the mind on the basis of neuronal action within the brain… I am forced to choose the proposition that our being is to be explained on the basis of two fundamental elements." [brain and mind, or body and soul] (Wilder Penfield, The Mystery of the Mind: A Critical Study of Consciousness and the Human Brain, Princeton, New Jersey, Princeton University Press, 1975, p. 80, (emphasis added))

What leads scientists to this conclusion is the fact that consciousness can never be described in terms of material factors alone. The human brain is like a marvelous computer, in which information from our five senses are collected and processed. But, this computer does not have a sense of "self"; it cannot conceive, feel or think about the sensations that it receives. The prominent English physicist, Roger Penrose, in his book The Emperor's New Mind, writes:

What is it that gives a particular person his individual identity? Is it, to some extent, the very atoms that compose his body? Is his identity dependent upon the particular choice of electrons, protons, and other particles that compose those atoms? There are at least two reasons why this cannot be so. In the first place, there is a continual turnover in the material of any living person's body. This applies in particular to the cells in a person's brain, despite the fact that no new actual brain cells are produced after birth. The vast majority of atoms in each living cell (including each brain cell)—and, indeed, virtually the entire material of our bodies—has been replaced many times since birth. The second reason comes from quantum physics…If an electron in a person's brain were to be exchanged with an electron in a brick, then the state of the system would be exactly the same state as it was before, not merely indistinguishable from it! The same holds for protons and for any other kind of particle, and for whole atoms, molecules, etc. If the entire material content of a person were to be exchanged with corresponding particles in the bricks of his house then, in a strong sense, nothing would have happened whatsoever. (Roger Penrose, The Emperor's New Mind, Penguin Books, 1989, pp. 24-25, (emphasis added))

Penrose clearly says that, even if all human atoms were exchanged with brick atoms, the qualities that make a human being conscious would remain completely the same. Or we could think of it conversely. If we exchanged the particles of the atoms in the brain with the atoms in bricks, the bricks would not become conscious.

Prof. Roger Penrose

In short, what makes human beings human is not a material quality; it is a spiritual one, and it is clear that its source is an entity apart from matter. In the conclusion of his book, Penrose comments:

Consciousness seems to me to be such an important phenomenon that I simply cannot believe that it is something just "accidentally" conjured up by a complicated computation. It is the phenomenon whereby the universe's very existence is made known.( Roger Penrose, The Emperor's New Mind, Penguin Books, 1989, p. 448)

What is materialism's standpoint, then, in light of these findings? How can materialists claim that human beings are composed only of matter, and that a human being with intelligence, feelings, thoughts, memory and senses, could come to be by the chance composition of lifeless, unconscious atoms? How can they possibly think that such a process is possible?

These questions concern all materialists. But, on these topics, Masonic writings contain ideas still more curious than anything found among the writings of materialists. When we look at these writings, we see clearly that behind the materialist philosophy lies the "worship of matter."

MASONIC MATERIALISM: THE DIVINIZATION OF MATTER

It is necessary to understand clearly what the materialist philosophy is: Those who espouse this philosophy believe that the great order and balance of the universe, and the millions of species of living things in the world, including human beings, came about only by the activity of the atoms that comprise matter. In other words, they think that lifeless and unconscious atoms are creators (Surely God is beyond that).

No matter how modern this idea may seem, it is, in fact, a reemergence of a corrupt belief that has existed since the earliest ages of history: Idolatry. Those who worshipped idols believed that the statues and totems they worshipped had spirit and power. In other words, they attributed consciousness and great power to lifeless, unconscious matter. Surely, this is obviously nonsensical. In the Qur'an, God refers to the irrationality of paganism. In the stories of the prophets, the spuriousness of pagan beliefs is especially emphasized. For example, it is revealed in a Qur’anic verse that the Prophet Abraham asked his father, "Father, why do you worship what can neither hear nor see and is not of any use to you at all?" (Surah Maryam: 42) It is clear that, to attribute divinity to lifeless matter, that cannot hear or see, and has no power, is evidently very foolish.

Materialists are modern examples of idolaters. They do not worship statues and totems made of wood and stone, but believe in the idea that matter constitutes, not only these, but all bodies, and think that this matter has limitless power, intelligence and knowledge. Masonic writings have some interesting things to say about this, because Masons openly confess this pagan belief, which is the essence of materialism. An article in Mimar Sinan magazine declares:

In order for a material object to come to be, atoms come together in a certain order. The force that causes this organization is the spirit possessed by each atom. Because every spirit is a consciousness, every created thing is an intelligent consciousness. And every created thing is intelligent to the same degree. A human being, an animal, a bacterium and a molecule are all intelligent to the same degree. ( Onur Ayangil, "Yeni Gnose" (New Gnosis), Mimar Sinan, 1977, No. 25, p. 20, (emphasis added))

We notice that it is claimed here that every atom has intelligence and consciousness. The Masonic writer making this claim proposes that every thing has consciousness because of the atoms it possesses and, because he rejects the existence of the human spirit, he regards a human being as a mass of atoms, just like an animal or lifeless molecules.

However, the fact is this: lifeless matter (atoms) has no spirit, consciousness or intelligence. This is a fact proved to us by both observation and experiment. Only living things have consciousness, which is the result of the "soul" that God has given to them. Of all living things, human beings are benefited with the highest degree of consciousness because they possess a unique spirit that God has given to them.

In other words, consciousness is not found in lifeless matter, as the Masons believe, but in beings that have spirit. But, in order not to accept the existence of God, Masons resort to the foolish belief that attributes "spirit" to atoms.

This materialist belief espoused by Masons is a new expression of a pagan belief called "animism," which supposes that every material thing in nature (rocks, mountains, winds, water, etc.) has its own spirit and consciousness. The Greek philosopher Aristotle combined this belief with materialism (the belief that matter is uncreated and is the only absolute) and even today, the attribution of consciousness to lifeless things—being the essence of materialism—has become a kind of contemporary paganism.

Masonic writings are full of interesting accounts of this belief. An article in Mimar Sinan entitled "The Way of Truth" maintains:

If we accept the animist hierarchy that spirit exists in an atom, that a molecule directs the spirit in an atom, that a cell directs the spirit in a molecule, that an organ directs the spirit in a cell, is not the main spirit that directs the whole body the god of these lesser spirits? (Enis Ecer, "Gercegin Yolu" (The Path of the Truth), Mimar Sinan, 1979, No. 30, p. 29, (emphasis added))

This false and primitive doctrine leads Masons to believe that the balance and order in the universe is effected by lifeless matter. Again, in Mimar Sinan, an article has appeared about the world's geological development. It states:

This surface deterioration occurs so subtly that we can say that the present state of life has been attained as a result of this hidden intelligence in magma. If this were not so, water would not collect in hollows and the earth would be completely covered by water. (Faruk Erengul, "Evrende Zeka" (Intelligence in the Universe), Mimar Sinan, 1982, No. 46, p. 27, (emphasis added))

Another article in the magazine Mimar Sinan claims that the first living cells, and those that multiplied from them, were conscious, formed a plan and implemented it:

The beginning of life on earth happened when a single cell came to be. This single cell immediately began to move and, under a vital and truly rebellious impulse, divided in two and continued along this path of infinite division. But these separated cells perceive no purpose to their wandering and, as if fearing this wandering and under a powerful instinctive drive of self-preservation, these separated cells co-operate among themselves, come together and work in a total democratic harmony and self-sacrifice in the creation of those organs critical for life. Albert Arditti, "Hurriyet-Disiplin-Dinamizm-Statizm" (Freedom-Discipline-Dynamism-Statism), Mimar Sinan, 1974, No. 15, p. 23

But, contrary to what is asserted in this quotation, there is no consciousness in a living cell. To believe this is nothing but superstition. Again, as we see in the above quotation, in order to deny the existence and creative activity of God, they attribute farcical attributes to atoms, molecules and cells, such as intelligence, the ability to plan, self-sacrifice and even "democratic harmony." Just as it is nonsense to say of the creation of an oil painting that "the paints ordered themselves together according to a plan, and proceeded democratically and in harmony," so the Masons' claim about the origin of life is nonsense.

Another common expression of the superstitious tenets of Masonry and its materialism is the notion of "Mother Nature." We encounter this expression in documentary films, books, magazines and even commercials; it is used to express the belief that the lifeless matter that composes nature (nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, etc.) has a conscious power, and that it has by itself created human beings and all living things. This myth is not based on observation or logical reasoning, but is intended to win people over by means of mass indoctrination. The purpose is for people to forget God, the real Creator, turning instead to paganism, in which "nature" is regarded as the creator.

Masonry strives to give shape to this creed, strengthen and disseminate it, and supports all social forces that it regards as being its allies. An article in Mimar Sinan, entitled "Thoughts About The Concept and the Evolution of Solidarity from the Scientific Point of View," speaks of the "mysterious harmony that mother nature has ordered" and states that this is the basis of Masonry's humanist philosophy. It further states that Masonry will support those movements that espouse this philosophy:

When it considers from the point of view of the material give and take in the world of living things, that beneficial microbes which live on the earth and within us, all plants, animals and human beings exist in a mysterious harmony ordered by mother nature, and that they are continually engaged in an organic solidarity, I want to affirm once again that Masonry will regard every kind of psycho-social movement dedicated to well-being, peace, security and happiness, in short, every movement that is on the road to humanism and the universal unity of humanity, as means and actions that advance its own ideals. (Naki Cevad Akkerman, "Bilimsel Acidan Dayanisma Kavrami ve Evrimi Uzerine Dusunceler II" (Thoughts About The Concept and the Evolution of Solidarity from the Scientific Point of View II), Mimar Sinan, 1976, No. 20, p. 49, (emphasis added))

The most important of those "means and actions" which "advance the ideals of Masonry" is the purportedly scientifically based theory of evolution, the modern support for materialism and humanism.

In the next chapter we will take a closer look to the theory of evolution from Darwin's time to modern evolutionist propaganda, and we will discover the secret relationship of Masonry to this greatest scientific error of all time.

Intelligent design: A new age theory

In order to alienate people from true religions, Masons have devised many false religions of complex description assembling them all under the heading New Age.

Their purpose in this is to inculcate in that large segment of people who are abandoning materialist ideas, a new way of living and thinking. They want to establish a new system ornamented with metaphysical language and totally divergent from the true religion and faith in Allah (God) as revealed in the Qur’an. It is an irresponsible system with nothing to offer.

Many people are seeking for religion and Masons offer them a number of options all contained within the compass of their perverse ideas. And for every false religion they offer false gods to replace Allah (Surely Allah is beyond that).

In order to alienate people in Islamic countries from true religion, Masons are intent on offering the idea of intelligent design as the most appropriate alternative in these countries.

Of course, they do not pretend that what they are doing is against Islam; on the contrary, they claim that their activities are innocent and even serve to strengthen the foundations of faith in Allah. It is exceptional that, in Islamic countries, they include Islamic terms and ideas—however unwillingly—to their doctrine of intelligent design. In this way they try to conceal their real intentions and prevent objections from Muslims.

They employ the classic Masonic method of slow and gradual indoctrination and bringing the light slowly to sleepy eyes. Without revealing their purpose, they want to draw people into their superstitious religion.

However, Western supporters of this movement confess that this is a non-religious system of thought. For example, the American biologist, Michael Behe, one of the noted theoreticians of intelligent design, explains that intelligent design is not an idea based in religion but religious people can make good use of it in their arguments.

Those who accept the theory of intelligent design insist that religion and science should be separate and that science should not support creation and revealed religions.

They see themselves as outside revealed religions; they think that religion is a matter of faith and outside the parameters of science. Their view is that it would be wrong for science to rely on religion.

The official internet site of the Discovery Institute that represents this movement asks the question. ‘Is the theory of intelligent design the same as the theory of creation?’ The answer:

Unlike creationism, the scientific theory of intelligent design is agnostic regarding the source of design and has no commitment to defending Genesis, the Bible or any other sacred text. (http://www.discovery.org/csc/topQuestions.php#questionsAboutIntelligentDesign)

One of the focuses of the perverse belief systems that Masons have modeled along the lines of the New Age movement is intelligent design which has gotten a lot of media attention lately. This movement supports the theory that everything in the universe is the work of intelligent design. This theory does not accept the existence of Allah or the fact that He created everything saying that these ideas have nothing to do with science. They deliberately do not mention the name of Allah.

Their purpose is, given the fact that materialism and the theory of evolution (its imagined scientific support) have lately suffered an irremediable reverse, to offer people a spiritual quest on various perverse paths to follow; their goal to direct people away from revealed religions, especially Islam.

Masons employ the classic Masonic method of slow and gradual indoctrination and bringing the light slowly to sleepy eyes. Without revealing their purpose, they want to draw people into their superstitious religion.

The Theory of Intelligent Design: Another Kind of Deism.

The theory of intelligent design accepts neither revealed religions nor the existence of Allah. It has an abstract and abstruse concept of a designer.

It is interesting that Masons use the same logic in their writings when they say that the universe is like the intelligent designer-total conscious energy. They say this energy is conscious and that it is the Great Architect of the Universe.

But Masons insist that that this conscious energy is not Allah. (Surely Allah is beyond that)

We can see that advocates of intelligent design share the same logic as Masons when it comes to explaining their position. Their ideas are very much in tune with Deism which accepts the existence of a Creator while rejecting the validity of revealed religions.

Throughout history there have been several philosophers who have called themselves deists and believed in Allah but not in religion or revelation. Some well known deists were Heraclitus, Descartes, Voltaire and Leibnitz.
Moreover, the fact that Voltaire was a known Mason recognized for his antipathy toward Islam, and Descartes was a Templar and a Mason of high degree is enough to demonstrate the Masonic roots of Deism.

While Masons accept the existence of a Great Architect, they do not see the need for revealed religions. The founders of the intelligent design movement, though they accept the existence of a designer, do not accept religion; their idea is that you do not have to be religious to accept this theory.

We can see that the supporters of the theory of intelligent design are not different from Deist philosophers. Deists have throughout history either openly or in secret fought against the religion commanded by Allah; they may have changed their names but they are basically just supporting the same old perverse logic.

Respect and Honor are in Islam

A Muslim may sincerely believe in the theory of intelligent design espousing it as being useful to Islam. But this is a serious error. Persisting in this error will eventually cause this person to honor the creature more than the Creator.

Therefore it is very dangerous for a Muslim to get involved in a movement about which he knows nothing and of whose content he is ignorant.

Allah warns believers against falling into such an error:

Do not pursue what you have no knowledge of. Hearing, sight and hearts will all be questioned. (Surat al- Isra’, 36)

One of the most interesting things about those who accept the theory of intelligent design is that, although they claim to be Muslims, they do not revere the name of Allah.

Instead of saying that Allah has created the whole universe both animate and inanimate, they opt for a more abstruse expression such as there is intelligent design in the universe. Scientists in the West who espouse this theory admire the style of an intellectual philosopher and try to imitate it.

There is a very good reason why such people deliberately refrain from mentioning the name of Allah: they cannot understand the essence of religion and so they cannot experience faith deep in their hearts.

Since they cannot appreciate the subtle spirit of the Qur’an, the model of Islam they have invented in their minds is quite different from the Islam described in the Qur’an and the understanding of religion that genuinely exalts Allah.
A faithful Muslim admires the character of those blessed prophets whose exploits are described in the Qur’an and takes his example from holy individuals.

A person with a mind that cannot properly appreciate religious morality and the power of Allah, admires instead a smattering of Western intellectuals, philosophers, thinkers, scientists and educators whose style they attempt to imitate.

This attitude is tantamount to saying I don’t like the style of the prophets in the way they delivered their message; there’s a deficiency in it. Of course, such an attitude is totally opposite to Allah’s book and the attitude of a faithful Muslim who believes in the prophets.

As a result of this way of thinking, being known for one’s Muslim character would be avoided at all costs by such an individual.

But being ashamed to mention the name of Allah is not something that Islam condones. Neither our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) nor his companions practiced religion in this way. They all practiced proper, religious morality as taught in the Qur’an and explained it to others. In this way, past prophets and their followers practiced religious morality perfectly.

Being ashamed of religion, rejecting the true path and seeking honor, glory and respect elsewhere will bring nothing but humiliation:

Who would deliberately renounce the religion of Ibrahim except someone who reveals himself to be a fool? We chose him [Ibrahim] in this world and in the Hereafter he will be one of the righteous. (Surat al-Baqara, 130)

In the Qur’an, Allah severly condemns being inclined to unbelievers and thus making the slightest compromise with the morality of the religion:

They were very near to enticing you away from some of what We have revealed to you, hoping that you would invent something against Us. Then they would have taken you as their intimate. If We had not made you firm, you would have leaned towards them a little. Then We would have let you taste a double punishment in life and a double punishment in death. You would not have found any helper against Us.

Those who do not make the Qur’an their guide and do not fear Allah in their hearts will not understand why Muslims continually remember Allah . (Surat al-Isra’, 73-75)

They do not feel the necessity for doing this and, from their own intellectual point of view; they belittle the submission of believers to Allah and their loyalty to Allah and the Prophet.

The Lord tells us in the Qur’an about this point of view.

When they are told, ‘Believe in the way that the people believe,’ they say, ‘What! Are we to believe in the way that fools believe?’ No indeed! They are the fools, but they do not know it. (Surat al-Baqara, 13)

In another verse, the Lord says that only those who obey the Qur’an and fear Allah will be able to receive advice.

You can only warn those who act on the Reminder and fear the All-Merciful in the Unseen. Give them the good news of forgiveness and a generous reward. (Surah Yasin, 11)

Those who do not feel this fear of Allah, and do not try as hard as they can to fear Him will never be able to understand the eternal wisdom of the Qur’an.

An intellectual may enjoy the respect of his community for his knowledge and high level of culture. But these achievements will have value only when they are used for the good of Islam.

The reason why someone hesitates to revere the name of Allah and uses his knowledge to promote superstitious ideas may be because he wants to win the friendship and respect of people who have rejected Allah and Islam.
This shallow and anti-religious behavior may well win them the respect they are seeking but it will certainly not be acceptable in Allah’s sight. The Lord says in the Qur’an:

Do those who take the disbelievers as protectors, rather than the believers, hope to find power and strength with them? Power and strength belong entirely to Allah. (Surat an-Nisa’, 139)

In the Qu’ran, Allah tells us about those who reject Islam and choose to follow other paths.

If the truth were to follow their whims and desires, the heavens and the Earth and everyone in them would have been brought to ruin. No indeed! We have given them their Reminder, but they have turned away from it. (Surat al-Muminun, 71)

As we said earlier, at the root of the theory of intelligent design there is an illogical presupposition that there must be a separation between religion and science. For this reason, to accept Islamic morality openly and believe in the existence of Allah will draw objections and criticism from theoreticians of intelligent design who have no belief in Allah or religion.

Therefore, the use of science to prove the unity of Allah and that Islam is a revealed religion would be ridiculed by the main proponents of this theory as well as by other intellectuals.

Therefore, a Muslim will not compromise on reverencing the name of Allah and defending Islam even if doing so would win him the whole world in return. This is because he is aware that being a Muslim brings him true honor.

Allah shows the Way to Islam

In the struggle against atheism, the mind that sees the theory of intelligent design as higher than the Qur’an or the truths of faith must consider the fact that it is Allah Who shows the way of Islam.

Allah reveals in one of the verses as follows:

If your Lord had willed, all the people on the Earth would have believed. Do you think you can force people to be believers? (Surah Yunus, 10)

In order to believe in Allah, a person with a sincere conscience does not first have to be persuaded that there is an intermediate stage such as intelligent design. Those who are ashamed to accept the true path of the prophets and messengers and turn their backs on religion seeking glory, honor and respect in other places will find that this brings nothing but great humiliation.

Indeed, someone who is confused by lack of knowledge or Darwinist propaganda may become an atheist or a skeptic.

But for a person with a sincere conscience, the scientific collapse of the theory of evolution is convincing proof of the existence of Allah and creation.

In order to believe in Allah, a person with a sincere conscience does not first have to be persuaded that there is an intermediate stage such as intelligent design.

Refuting the theory of evolution with the purpose of removing the obstacles before one’s having faith in Allah is a scientific endeavour and a form of worship for Muslims.

However even if evolution is refuted, a stubborn, preconceived, irrational and malevolent atheist with an impaired reasoning may well not have faith. His mind may be clouded with various doubts.

Consequently it is clear that intelligent design will have no use to convince such a person about the existence of Allah.

A Muslim proves the existence of Allah to an atheist, a person in doubt, a Christian or a Budist through the wisdom communicated in the Qur’an and the signs of faith, and communicates the religion of Islam with the Qur’an.
He never forgets that it is Allah Who shows the right path.

One verse of the Qur’an said by a sincere Muslim, or even one truth of faith, may be enough to bring the most avid atheist to faith.

For example Moses (pbuh) performed a miracle in the presence of Pharaoh’s sorcerers and they immediately came to faith and prostrated themselves before Allah happy to die in His Way. Here are the relevant verses from the Qur’an:

The magicians threw themselves down in prostration. They said, ‘We believe in the Lord of Harun and Musa.’ Pharaoh said, ‘Do you believe in him before I have authorised you? He is your chief, the one who taught you magic. I will cut off your hands and feet alternately and have you crucified on palm trunks. Then you will know for certain which of us has the harsher and longer lasting punishment.’ They (magicians) said (to Pharaoh), ‘We will never prefer you to the Clear Signs which have come to us nor to Him Who brought us into being. Decide on any judgment you like. Your jurisdiction only covers the life of this world.’ (The magicians said to Pharaoh,) ‘We have believed in our Lord so that He may forgive us for our mistakes and for the magic which you forced us to perform. Allah is better and longer lasting.’ (Surah Ta Ha, 70-73)

It is interesting to notice that these people were first hostile to Moses (pbuh) but, by Allah’s will, immediately became good Muslims.

It is very significant that these people did not come to faith through speaking to Moses (pbuh); he did not speak one word.

And he gave no scientific explanation.

Allah gave them a miracle from His own Presence to show them true path; there was no mediator.

Therefore, it is important to remember that to struggle against Darwinism and other systems that oppose the idea of creation is an act of worship commanded in the Qur’an.

The result of such worship is absolutely in the hands of Allah.

Allah has made human beings responsible only for telling others about religious morality.

Trying to show people the right path through intellectual explanations or the most obtuse philosophies is totally contrary to the Qur’an.

Science and intellectual knowledge have no power of their own; they cannot direct people to the right path.

This power belongs only to Allah, the Lord of Earth and heaven.

Muslims attitudes must be clear.

As we said earlier, those who accept the theory of intelligent design generally hesitate to mention the name of Allah.

Ingratiating onesef with unbelievers, concealing one’s religion because of feeling ashamed or being nice to both sides have by no means any benefit to an individual. That is because, unbelievers would not accept such a person unless he entirely abandons his religion and stands firmly against Islam, openly remaining in their own ranks.

Consequently, such a person can live neither by the Islam in its true sense nor the “deist” philosophy he advocates. He can not remain to be a true advocate of any of them. He tries to ingratiate both sides yet is excluded from both of them and fails to find what he hopes for.

The state of such a person is clearly indicated in the verses:

The hypocrites think they deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them. When they get up to pray, they get up lazily, showing off to people, and only remembering Allah a very little. They vacillate between the two–not joining these or joining those. If Allah misguides someone, you will not find any way for him to go. (Surat an-Nisa, 142-143)

Distinguishing between atheist Zionism and Judaism

In the summer of 1982 there began a great savagery that caused the whole world to cry out in protest. The Israeli Army entered Lebanon in a sudden attack, and moved forward destroying every target that appeared before it. The Israelis surrounded the refugee camps, where Palestinians lived who had fled the Israeli occupation years before, and for two days used Lebanese Christian militias to slaughter innocent civilians. Within a few days, thousands of innocent people had been massacred.

This terrible Israeli terrorism outraged the whole world. The interesting thing, however, is that some of the protests came from Jews, even Israeli Jews. Professor Benjamin Cohen of Tel Aviv University penned a statement on June 6, 1982, saying:

I am writing to you while listening to a transistor that has just announced that 'we' are in the process of 'realizing our objectives' in Lebanon: to insure 'peace' for the residents of Galilee. These lies worthy of Goebbels make me mad. It is clear that this savage war, more barbaric than any of those preceding it, has nothing to do with the attempt in London or the security of Galilee ... Jews, sons of Abraham ... Jews, victims themselves of so much cruelty, how can they become so cruel? ... The greatest success of Zionism is the 'dejudaisation' of the Jews. 1

Benjamin Cohen was not the only Israeli to oppose the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Many Jewish intellectuals living in Israel condemned the savagery carried out by their own state.

This attitude was not restricted to the occupation of Lebanon. Israel’s oppression of the Palestinians, its insistence on its policy of occupation, and its links with the semi-fascist administrations in the former racist regime in South Africa had been criticized for many years by many prominent intellectuals in Israel. This Jewish criticism was aimed not just at the policies of Israel, but also at atheist Zionism, its official ideology.

This situation is the expression of a very important truth: Israel’s policy of occupation and state terrorism from 1967 up to the present stems from the ideology of atheist Zionism, and many Jews in the world are opposed to it.

For Muslims, therefore, the concepts that should be criticized are not Judaism or the Jewish race, but Godless Zionism. In the same way that an anti-Nazi can have no hatred for the German people, so he can have none for the Jewish race because he opposes atheist Zionism.

The Racist Roots of Atheist Zionism

After the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem in 70 AD, they began to spread to different parts of the world. During this period of the ‘diaspora,’ which lasted up to the 19
th century, the vast majority of Jews saw themselves as a religious group. Over time, most Jews adopted the religion of the countries they lived in. Jews in Germany, for example, began to speak German, and those in Britain, English. Hebrew was left as a sacred language used only in prayers and religious texts. When certain social restrictions on Jews in European countries were lifted in the 19th century, Jews began to assimilate with the societies they were living in. Most Jews saw themselves as a ‘religious community,’ not as a ‘race’ or ‘nation.’ They described themselves as ‘Jewish Germans,’ ‘Jewish Britons,’ or ‘Jewish Americans.’

However, there was a huge rise in racism all over the world in the 19th century. Racist ideas, influenced in particular by Darwin’s theory of evolution, grew enormously and found many supporters particularly in Western societies. Atheist Zionism was the effect this racist storm had among the Jews.

There are two varieties of Zionism today. The first of these is the Zionist conception of the devout Jewish people, who wish to live in peace and security in Israel alongside Muslims, seeking peace and wishing to worship in the lands of their forefathers and engage in business. In that sense, Muslims support Zionism. We would fully back the devout Jewish people living in peace and security in their own lands, remembering God, worshipping in their synagogues and engaging in science and trade in their own land.

The Zionist belief held by a devout Jew and based on the Torah does not in any way conflict with the Qur’an. The Jews’ living in that region is indicated in the Qur’an, in which it is revealed that God has settled the Children of Israel on it:

Remember when Moses said to his people, “My people! Remember God’s blessing to you when He appointed prophets among you and appointed kings for you, and gave you what He had not given to anyone else in all the worlds! My people! Enter the Holy Land which God has ordained for you. Do not turn back in your tracks and so become transformed into losers.” (Surat al-Ma’ida: 20-21)

It is the “irreligious, Godless Zionism” that we as Muslims condemn and regard as a threat. These Godless Zionists, who do not defend the existence and oneness of God, but, on the contrary, encourage a Darwinist, materialist perspective and thus engage in irreligious propaganda, are also a threat to devout Jews. Godless Zionism is today engaged in a struggle against peace, security and moral virtue, and constantly produces strife and chaos and the shedding of blood. Muslims and devout Jews must join forces to oppose this Godless Zionism and encourage belief in God.

Judaism Is Not the Origin of Atheist Zionism

The Jews who propagated the idea of Godless Zionism were people with very weak religious beliefs, most of whom were atheists. They saw Judaism as the name of a race, not as a community of belief. They suggested that the Jews were a separate race from European nations, that it was impossible for them to live together and that it was essential they establish their own homeland. They did not rely on religious thinking when deciding where that homeland should be. Theodor Herzl, the founder of irreligious Zionism, once thought of Uganda, and this became known as the ‘Uganda Plan.’ The Zionists later decided on Palestine. The reason for this was Palestine was regarded as ‘the Jews’ historic homeland’ rather than for any religious significance it had for them.

The atheist Zionists made great efforts to get other Jews to accept these non-religious ideas. In fact, the World Zionist Organization that was set up for this purpose undertook vast propaganda work in all countries with Jewish populations, and suggested that Jews could not live peacefully with other nations and that they were a separate ‘race,’ for which reason they had to go and settle in Palestine. Most Jewish communities ignored these calls.

In this way, atheist Zionism entered world politics as a racist ideology which maintained that Jews should not live with other nations. First of all, this mistaken idea created grave problems for and pressure on Jews living in the diaspora. Then for the millions of Muslims in the Middle East, it brought the Israeli policy of occupation and annexation, together with bloodshed, death, poverty and terror.

Many Jews today criticize this atheist and radical form of Zionist ideology. Rabbi Hirsch, one of the foremost Jewish men of religion, said, ‘Zionism wants to define the Jewish people as a national entity ... which is a heresy.’ 2

The famous French Muslim thinker Roger Garaudy wrote this on the subject:

The worst enemy of the prophetic Jewish faith is the nationalist, racist and colonialist logic of tribal Zionism, born of the nationalism, racism and colonialism of 19th century Europe. This logic …inspired all the colonialisms of the West and all its wars of one nationalism against another…There is no future or security for Israel and no peace in the Middle East unless Israel becomes "dezionized" and returns to the faith of Abraham, which is the spiritual, fraternal and common heritage of the three revealed religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. 3

For this reason, therefore, we must distinguish between devout Jews and atheist Zionists. Not every Jew in the world holds such an understanding of Zionism. In fact, atheist Zionists are a minority in the Jewish world. Moreover, there are a great many Jews who oppose atheist Zionism’s crimes against humanity, who want Israel to withdraw at once from all the territory it has occupied, and say that instead of being a racist ‘Jewish state’ Israel should be a free state where all races and communities can live together in equality.

While Muslims rightfully oppose Israel and atheist Zionism, they must also bear these truths in mind, and remember that it is not the devout Jews who are the problem, but atheist Zionism.
